Rebooting My Life

Lately, I have been doing some detoxing – in my physical life, in my spirit, and in my mind. It is something that is more similar to purging, like doing some early spring cleaning at my home or something like that.

I feel compelled from the very depths inside of me to cleanse. To get rid of everything that doesn’t serve me. To minimize. To begin again, fresh and new. That is no accident.

My houghts On Downsizing

My Thoughts on Downsizing

In this life, we are fed with information and message of unbridled accumulation, money, consumerism, and advertisements all through since our economy mainly thrives off of individuals buying the things they may not be in need of. We have been misled to believe that the key to leading a happy life lies within our purchases but in reality, it begins within ourselves.

Of late, there is a new trend where minimalism seems to gain traction as many people have began realizing that it makes no sense to take part in that conspicuous consumption anymore. In case you are tired of the idea, which portrays happiness as an equation of the more stuff you have, then you would want to downsize. However, before doing that, you may want to check these little known life-changing things, which will happen as you downsize.

Choose to be Successful

Choose to be Successful

At some point I have lived a life filled with chaos and uncertainty longer than I wanted. It has been a roller-coaster ride and I came to realize that anytime I was facing struggles, it was hard for me to see the path to a change or to success. Yet, that path is always there and the solution is to embrace these challenges. Going through challenges helps you develop a hunger for a better life.

Sure, being broke and struggling is never desirable, but this is also part of the process of attaining success. For succeeding it is inevitable that you take the right action and ask the right questions in the midst of your struggle.

Making conscious Decisions

Making conscious Decisions

There is nothing more saddening than being chronically unhappy or angry. This is because it leads to an unbalanced life, with no appreciation of what exists or even a life with too much expectations. Without appreciation or gratitude to what you have already accomplished, you will never understand true fulfillment. As a matter of fact, achievement doesn’t make sense if there is absolutely no balance in your life.

In life, you’ll make a few decisions which tell the quality of your living. If you make these decisions unconsciously, you’ll end up like most people who are out of shape physically, financially stressed and also exhausted emotionally. But if you make it a priority of making these decisions consciously, you’ll absolutely change the course of life as from today.

About being a Father

About being a Father

My mother raised me alone while working full time in order to provide for the both of us. I didn’t have a father in my life, and she didn’t have her husband at her side. They broke up and got a divorce, when I was very young.

I now know that life was tough for her, since she always had to work hard to make ends meet. For her this began very early. First, as the oldest child of her mom, my grandmother, she helped to raise her six brothers, while pursuing her own goals and her education in the Philippines. Then she met my father and left her country to live abroad, away from her family and friends, and in a totally different culture.

Talking about Death

Thoughts about Death

It’s almost three weeks since one of my favourite actors, Leonard Nimoy, died. Being “Spock” in “Star Trek”, he was one of those actors which I thought would never die.

In todays modern society, for some reason, death appears to be something like a large rhino, sitting on top of us one day and completely squash us until we are nothing more but a red mush.

Living my Life again

Living my Life again

Smartphones and social media sites are becoming a part of our everyday lives. I used both in my work for many years, as they helped me with promoting and personal branding. I found myself on Facebook, in particular, as I connected with people from my past. Besides my blogs, both Xing and LinkedIn also became a part of my life, and I found myself constantly thinking about what messages to send out to the cyber world.

Chronically, when the New Year comes around, there is usually a lot of talk about resolutions. Most people want to slim down … so they make a weight loss goal. However, have you ever thought about spending less time in front of your computer? What does technology take away from your life? Whenever you are on your computer, you are neglecting some other aspect of your family.

What is your purpose
February 5, 2015

What is your purpose?

When I talk to you about your purpose we are not talking about you becoming a pilot, a famous movie director, a professional basketball player, or a manager of a highly successful night club.

These are job positions.

They are very worthwhile and achievable goals. If you are trying to use your given talents and become successful, then these are very worthwhile things to shoot for. However, these things are not necessarily what your purpose is.

You will never be merely a psychologist or business person … not unless you allow this to happen to you. Or unless you spend your whole life letting your career entirely define you. If you are willing to allow that to happen, then it’s destined to happen.

Inevitable Change

Inevitable Change

Change can be scary and painful, that’s why many people stick with the status quo. It’s much easier to remain the same and keep on going like you’ve always done.

People stick with what they know. They remain in jobs that don’t fulfill them. They stay in relationships that lack love. They live in spaces that don’t feel like home. They allow their lives to remain in limbo because they are afraid to experience something new. My experience is that fear of the great unknown can paralyze to a high level. It gets even scarier when you have no control over the things in your live that are changing. That’s the reason so many people fear changes in policy, procedure or the economy.

Two People in one Body

Two People in one Body

Throughout my life there are two people within me, struggling to be heard.

We all have regrets in our lives, and feel as though we could be someone different. When you look in the mirror, you see the person you are in the here and now.

But, do you see the person you wish you could be?

Perhaps you look in that mirror and you see the child you once were? You remember being a person filled with love, hope, and sensitivity? Or is the person looking back at you one who is filled with hate, guilt, and hardness?
